Becoming An Outdoors Woman

The Becoming an Outdoors Woman program is a weekend retreat designed for women by women and is an unforgettable experience. Over the course of 2 ½ days, lunch on Friday through lunch on Sunday, you will be provided the opportunity to learn and enhance your knowledge of outdoor activities catered to you, our adult audience.

The retreat venues are Colorado’s top guest ranches, one being Colorado’s only 4 diamond guest ranch. Accommodations include lodge style rooms and cabins with linens, individual bathrooms, and great service. You’ll be staying in comfort while enjoying the weekend with your friends, daughters, mothers, sisters – or come on your own and you will find immediate camaraderie.

No experience or equipment needed! Everything is provided and each class is taught at an introductory level. During the weekend, 24 classes are offered during 4 instructional blocks: one on Friday, two on Saturday, and one on Sunday. You’ll choose your top choice for each time period as classes run concurrently. Outdoor activities range from horseback riding to kayaking; from fly fishing to shooting sports; and from map and compass to outdoor photography. There is something for every interest.

Instructors are experts in their field and are from natural resource agencies, conservation organizations, and professional businesses. John Fielder, Colorado’s renowned photographer, is one of our noted instructors. He volunteers his time to engaging women in the outdoor world! We bring you the best.

Classes are 3+ hours in length, meals are mouth watering, and evenings are filled with great presentations, evening entertainment, crafts, and time for relaxing. Smores by a roaring campfire or time in the hot tub make for a great evening after a day at the outdoor activity center.
